A local law to supersede and amend the Town Law in relation to Notice of Adoption of Town Ordinances.
Section 1. Laws modified or suspended.
This local law shall modify and supersede section one hundred thirty -three of the Town Law, being chapter six hundred thirty-four of the Laws of 1932, entitled, "An Act relating to towns constituting chapter 62 of the consolidated laws," as amended, to read as set forth in Section 2 hereof.
Section 2. When ordinance shall take effect
Every ordinance and every amendment to an ordinance hereafter adopted or approved by the town board of the Town of Colesville to which the provisions of Article 9 of the Town Law are applicable, shall be entered in its minutes and a summary describing the subject of such ordinance published in a newspaper published in the town, if any, or in such newspaper published in Broome County having a circulation in the Town of Colesville as the town board may designate, once, and a printed copy of such ordinance or amendment posted on the sign board maintained by the t town clerk pursuant to subdivision six of section thirty of the Town Law, and affidavits of such publication and posting shall be filed with the town clerk. Such ordinance or amendment shall take effect ten days after such publication and posting; but such ordinance or amendment shall take effect from the date of its service as against a person served personally with a copy thereof, certified by the town clerk under the copy thereof, certified by the town clerk under the corporate seal of the town; and showing the date of its passage and entry in the minutes. The town clerk shall furnish a copy of such ordinance to any elector of the Town of Colesville requesting a copy thereof prior to its effective date.
Section 3.
This local law shall be effective immediately upon its adoption subject to the provisions of the municipal Home Rule Law.
