Description:

All dogs over the age of 4 months must be licensed.  The fee for unspayed/unneutered dog is $25.00, for a spayed or neutered dog the fee is  $15.00.  Residents must complete and submit a dog license application, a copy of the rabies vaccination and spay or neuter certificate with the appropriate fee to the Town Clerks Office.

 

 

 What to do if you encounter a stray dog: 

 

If you see a stray dog, do not approach; Call the dog Control Officer at 693-1592.  If you are unable to speak directly to the Dog Control Officer, please leave a message and your call will be retutned.

 

You also have the option of calling the Broome County Sherriff's Office.  

 

Please take note of where you saw the dog and give as much detail as possible along with a brief discription. 

 

For your protection: do not approach a stray dog or any other animal.

Dogs, Cats, Ferrets - Protect Your Animals!

  • Pets need to be at least 3 months old to receive a vaccination.
  • All pets must be restrained by the owner or responsible adult.
  • If your pet has had a previous Rabies Vaccination, bring the certificate with you so that your pet may receive a three year vaccination. Without the certificate, your pet will receive a one-year vaccination.
  • A $5.00 donation requested but not required. All pets will be vaccinated regardless of ability to donate.
